There is a natural process at work when trying new things or doing something that scares you. Knowing this can allow you to accept the stages of a challenge and push forward when you want to quit.
Here’s how it goes:
I want to do this.
I have plenty of time to figure out how to do this.
Why did I agree to do this?
I don’t want to do this at all.
I don’t think I can do this because of [fill in the blank excuse].
I want to quit.
Okay, I’m just going to do it.
I’m scared shitless, but it’s too late bail now.
I’m doing it.
This isn’t so bad.
I’m so glad I did it.
Thank God that’s over!!!
