At any given time you are either progressing or regressing. Every single choice we make guides us toward one or the other. Try as we might to convince ourselves that there is some grey area here, there isn’t.

Progress: Forward or onward movement toward a destination.

Regress: Return to a former or less developed state.

Take the day to observe, without judgment, your choices and which direction you tend to go in. What excuses do you make to engage behavior that keeps you in the past and which ones do you resist that you know would propel you forward toward what you really want? Once you get past the initial compulsion to stay the same (regress) or the initial resistance to change (progress), observing your choices and acting on what is ultimately in your highest and best good can become second nature. It takes time and there are set backs, but that is all part of the process.
